Overview of the program below:
2020/2021 Season Plan
On behalf of the board, we would like to thank you for your patience during these unprecedented times. Over the past few months we have been working closely with the Ontario Hockey Federation (OHF), Ontario Minor Hockey Association (OMHA) and King Township to work within the guidelines on how we can return to hockey, keeping the safety of all involved our top priority.
On July 31, the OHF released their Plan and Return to play Protocols, this can be found on their website. Based on these policies, the KTMH has come up with a plan to create a season that would best adapt to operating within these policies and guidelines.
There will be many new rules in place as we move forward. Details on this will be provided closer to the start of the season.
The OHF return to play is based on a multi-stage approach. We are currently in stage 3, so our program will be based on stage 3 for now. Once we are ready to move to stage 4 (traditional 5 on 5 hockey) we will update our program accordingly.
Based on the OHF return to play plan, we will follow these guidelines to start the season:
- There will be no tryouts.
- No Rep teams.
- There will be no tournaments
- Teams will consist of up to 9 player’s and 1 goalie
- There will be two tiers
- There will be 4-5 teams in a 50 player bubble that will play and practice together.
- We expect to play in a 3 on 3 format
- Each team will receive a practice and a game per week.
- A reduction in teams may be necessary if we do not have enough coaches. (So please apply now!)
