OMHA Vaccine Policy - PLEASE READ
Dear Hockey Families,

We are writing with an important update and information concerning the OMHA’s recently announced COVID-19 vaccination policy for the upcoming 2021/22 hockey season. If you have not already received it the following excerpted policy statement was released by the OMHA on September 3, 2021:

The OMHA will be mandating that all eligible participants involved in minor hockey, are fully vaccinated for COVID-19 for the upcoming season. All eligible participants are required to be fully vaccinated by October 31, 2021.

For specific information around the OMHA’s vaccination policy, please click here.

Our accommodations policies are currently being finalized, and will be published when they are complete. This policy applies to and is binding on all OMHA centres, including King Township, Schomberg and Nobleking Minor Hockey. The OMHA’s policy applies only to players and officials who are eligible to be vaccinated (i.e. born in 2009 or earlier). The applicable Association and OMHA will be expected to abide by the Human Rights Code (Ontario) and there may be medical or other accommodations granted in exceptional circumstances with appropriate supporting documentation. In approved cases an accommodation plan (which the OMHA policy states will include regular COVID-19 testing) will be developed through consultation between the OMHA, Association and the affected family and team. The OMHA policy is consistent with other provincial hockey leagues, such as the OHL, the GTHL, and the OWHA.

We also expect that in light of the Province’s recent announcement that access to all indoor recreational facilities will be denied to non-vaccinated individuals the Township of King, other municipalities and privately run arenas will be rolling out similar mandatory vaccination policies in the near future. We will continue to monitor developments coming from Hockey Canada, the OHF, the OMHA and the Township of King and will update you further as the COVID-19 vaccination rules and requirements continue to evolve.

Although we hope you will join us for the exciting upcoming season, we understand and respect the choices you will need to make.

Our hockey season will start September 7th, 2021. The KTMH board has approved a special exception to our refund policy allowing for a 100% refund minus the $50 administration fee for those who wish to exit from our hockey program.  This exception will be in place until September 14th.  No exceptions to our refund policy regarding OMHA's vaccination policy will be offered after this date.

We look forward to seeing everyone at the rink very soon.  If you have any questions regarding this matter, please contact Julie Kerr at [email protected]
