With a heavy heart...
With a heavy heart, the Schomberg and King Township Minor Hockey Families mourn the loss of long time Coach, Volunteer, Leader and Friend, Fernando De Luca. Fernando’s loss cannot be put into words. In his many years of Coaching with our Organizations, he left a lasting impression in the lives of many families in our community, and touched the hearts of many young players.

As we pay tribute to his life and contributions, we would ask that all members of our close knit Minor Hockey Family send their thoughts and prayers to the De Luca family at this difficult time. 

Coach Fernando, on behalf of all of the little Red Wings and King Rebels that you supported and taught over the years - we say a heartfelt thank-you.




Godspeed to you Coach, all of our next games will be played in your Memory and Honour. 

The funeral arrangements for Coach Fernando are set out below:

Obituary for Fernando De Luca
God called Fernando peacefully on Thursday December 21, 2017 at the age of 47. He will be forever missed by his loving wife Rosie. Cherished by his dear children, Joey and Michael. Beloved son of Ida and Giuseppe, and brother of Carm (Doug Doctor), and Jay (Paola). Cherished uncle of Luca, Gabriel, Sicily, Samuel, Eloisa, and Massimo. Dear Son-in-Law of Giuseppe and Adelina Iafrate, and Brother-In-Law of Laura (Fernando Silva).

Deeply missed by his best friend and honorary brother, Paolo Cornacchia. He will be held dear in the hearts of his family, relatives, and many friends. Visitations will take place at the Vescio Funeral Home Woodbridge Chapel (8101 Weston Rd. 905-850-3332) on Thursday December 28, 2017 from 2-4 p.m. and 6-9 p.m. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Friday, December 29, 2017 at a time to be determined at St. Jude’s Roman Catholic Church (3265 Weston Rd., south of Finch Ave.). 

If so desired, donations in memory of Fernando may be made to the Canadian Tire Jumpstart Charities.
